Sam Wanamaker Playhouse

A Few Tickets Released for London’s Most Sold-Out Theatre
One of the most beautiful theatres in London is the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe. This re-creation of a 17th century is lit entirely by beeswax candles and is one of the most magical performance spaces in London. It is also one of the most sought-after and, as it only seats 340 people, it is always incredibly difficult to get tickets for performances there.
The Fourth Choir were lucky enough to be invited to sing in the Sam Wanamaker in December for the Globe Friends Xmas Concert. The theatre was a joy to sing in and we were even more thrilled to be asked back for the first-ever Globe Friends Summer Concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Globe. The concert will take place on Monday, June 26 at 7pm and the concert’s themes will be rivers, Shakespeare and the Summer of Love. We will be performing some of the repertoire from our Thames Tunnel concerts so, for those of you who were disappointed at being unable to get tickets for those concerts, this is another chance to hear some of the music that we’ll be singing there. The musical numbers will be interspersed with readings by Globe actors.
Although this is a private event for the Friend’s of the Globe, the Globe management has kindly agreed to release some tickets for Fourth Choir supporters. Tickets can only be booked via the Globe website but, as the event is not being advertised publicly, it is “hidden” on the website and is difficult to find, so follow this link below.
The Globe Friends have already bought up all the seats in the lower part of the theatre but there are still tickets left in the Upper Gallery at £12 (or £5 for restricted view seats).
